KONELSİS, ERC Sistem, and Huawei have launched a strategic collaboration to contribute to Africa's energy transformation. Under the agreement signed on January 20th in Ankara, work has begun on the installation of a 42 MW Solar Power Plant (SPP) and a 100 MWh energy storage system. This project aims to strengthen Africa's energy infrastructure and increase the use of sustainable energy sources.
KONELSİS' leadership in project management and implementation, combined with ERC Sistem's expertise and Huawei's innovative technologies, creates a strong synergy. This project aims to contribute to the transformation of Africa's energy infrastructure, reduce the carbon footprint, and promote the use of renewable energy. The environmental benefits of the project are expected to include the prevention of 63,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually, the preservation of 3 million trees, and the saving of 17 million liters of diesel fuel.
KONELSİS Chairman Hüseyin Güneş stated that this project will make renewable energy plants in Africa larger and more widespread. Güneş emphasized their full confidence in Huawei and ERC Sistem, saying, "With this project, we will provide a significant solution to energy problems in Africa and set an example for future projects." He also noted that contributing to Africa's energy security is one of the main goals of the project.
Güneş mentioned that KONELSİS has been involved in several projects in Africa before and aims to expand its market on the continent with this new initiative. He stressed that KONELSİS is committed to continuing to implement environmentally friendly projects, stating that this project represents not only an energy transformation but also a strong investment in the future.
